Graduate Unemployment In Nigeria

For a while, I have avoided doing any article on Nigeria or its inability to carry out basic functions such as provision of employment despite the fact that I am a political scientist because, it hurts so bad. Nigeria will be 59 by 1st October, 2019 but yet to show any achievement. Job creation has become a thing of the past for government. Now it is left for private individuals to provide employment resulting in modern slavery. A situation where you are paid 40,000 naira or even lesser (a graduate) every month must be given back to the organization one is working for through long days, long nights and barely anytime for oneself. Nigeria is now hooked on certificates. certificates for this, certificates for that. Now when one comes out of the university with this certificate, you are still subjected to work like you have no life of your own for a meagre salary. Salary is paid in exchange for your soul (believe it or not). Gone are those days when Bsc is seen like you won a lottery.
